Senator Mark Daly and Landscape Designer Diarmuid Gavin worked together on the initiative to create a concept garden to be used by communities across the country.

A garden of remembrance in Kenmare was dedicated to the women and children who were involved in the 1916 Rising.
The citizens engagement in the shape and direction of the lead up to and in the year of the commemoration are an integral part of the group’s work. Members of the public were invited to contact Mark to discuss their ideas. Mark also consulted the Smithsonian Institution in Washington regarding renovation of the GPO in Dublin for the centenary celebration.
