At the Seanad’s Order of Business, I acknowledged the Taoiseach’s recent announcement in Killarney that he will be releasing the files in relation to the Kingsmill massacre in the North. We hope that the British PM David Cameron does the same in the release of files on the Dublin-Monaghan bombings.
I also spoke about how 1 in 10 people die on our organ transplant waiting list, not because there is a lack of organ donations, but because we do not have a system that works. The Government needs to take action on the pancreatic transplant system as well. I ask the Minister for Health, Leo Varadkar, to come into the House and explain why he is allowing this dysfunctional system to continue.
