United States Celebrates Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day in the United States. 257 Irish-born soldiers of the US army have received congressional Medal of Honours, more than any other nation. Myself and Congressman Mick Mulvaney discussed the dedication of the 1916 Gardens of Remembrance throughout the United States acknowledging the lines in the Proclamation, “Ireland, through us, summons her children to her flag and strikes for her freedom … supported by her exiled children in America … she strikes in full confidence of victory.”
