Immigration Reform TV advert to urge action on plight of 50,000 Undocumented Irish in the US.

The Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform in conjugation with The Ireland America Association has secured air time for its new advertisement on the TV channel ‘Today’s Ireland’. The channel is part of the MHz Network which has a reach into 42 million homes across the United States. The advert will encourage action on Immigration Reform in order to resolve the plight of the 50,000 undocumented Irish in the United States.
The ‘Todays Ireland’ Channel was launched in Washington DC last March and currently features news and contemporary dramas from the island of Ireland. The Channel began transmission of the new advertisement last week across the United States.

Senator Mark Daly, Fianna Fail Spokesperson on the Irish Overseas and Diaspora said of the advert “We have to ensure that the 50,000 Undocumented Irish have a voice and are supported by their public representatives at home. With an Immigration Reform Bill being passed through the Senate we need to redouble our efforts with the Republicans in the House of Representatives”.

Membership of the Ireland America Association is open to serving current and former members of the Oireachtas, members of local authorities throughout Ireland and members of the Northern Assembly.
