On October 4th the people must send the Government a message and show them they will not stand for lying and broken election promises.

Fianna Fáil Senator Mark Daly has called for a No vote in the forthcoming Seanad referendum.
“It’s broken election promises include, protecting student fees and child benefit. Richard Bruton promised 40,000 in Job creation instead we have 50,000 people immigrating”, Said Senator Daly
One of the most bizarre election promises broken has been on Transparency. The government’s promise to be transparent , stopping ministers making additions and changes to EU laws without allowing TD’s to see them first.
In the Fine Gael election manifesto they promised “The situation can no longer be tolerated where Irish Ministers enact EU legislation by statutory instrument (ministerial orde) “.
The director of the Seanad referendum campaign in a blatant demonstration of the hollow promise of Dail reform signed an EU law on transparency into Irish Legislation and no TD saw it in advance.
Senator Daly commented ” The government promises to reform the Dail and yet we see Minister Bruton signing this law on transparency into place without referring it to the Dail, this shows the lie in this promise.”
“Minister Bruton and other Ministers signing EU law into Irish legislation without scrutiny by TDs can account for up to 75% of laws made in Ireland annually”.
