Senator Daly Proposes an amendment to the Order of Business to the effect that the Minister for Health should come before the House to discuss SI 325 – European Union (Quality and Safety of Human Organs Intended for Transplantation) Regulations 2012.

Senator Mark Daly: I wish to propose an amendment to the Order of Business to the effect that the Minister for Health should come before the House to discuss SI 325 – European Union (Quality and Safety of Human Organs Intended for Transplantation) Regulations 2012. I attended the Irish Kidney Association’s annual general meeting earlier this year and I am aware that the association is dissatisfied at the manner in which this statutory instrument was introduced and the lack of consultation in respect of it.  I ask the Leader to arrange for the Minister for Health to come to the House today to discuss the matter.
